Subclasses (now called Ranger Conclaves) Changed the beast companion list. Beast gets own turn. Beast can attack on its own turn w/o giving up ranger’s action. Beast abilities gained are completely changed. Same beast can be brought back to life (at half cost) even if completely destroyed.
How do I increase my Beast Master Ranger?
- change the 4 hp per level to 4+ the beast’s con mod per level.
- give the beast hit dice to spend like a player at a d6.
- at some point make the attacks count as magical for overcoming resistances (roughly around the same time as moon druids)
Will revised Ranger be released?
The Revised Ranger will not be published. Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Beast Master Ranger is it’s spiritual Successor.
Are Rangers underpowered?
It isn’t underpowered, even if you play PHB version you will be dealing high damage. I honestly think anyone who thinks the Ranger is underpowered is doing it wrong. The ranger can deal out good damage every round but it doesn’t have game mechanism to a lot of damage to a single foe in one round.
Can Rangers change fighting style?

If beast master and companion take their turns one after the other, the interaction is very clunky and aggravating. The companion becomes more helpful to the ranger’s allies then to the ranger. Having the ranger and companion taking concurrent turns makes the ranger and companion work better as a team.
What happens to Beast Master as you level up?
A Beast Master’s animal companion grows in offensive and defensive power as you level up. Though you must spend your action to command it to attack at first, you eventually gain the ability to trade one of your attacks (with Extra Attack) to command your beast to attack.
