The Revised Ranger helped to correct them – although it was not a perfect fix. The RR did some good things, like applying a damage bonus to Favored Enemy; restructuring the Favored Enemy feature into tiers; and increasing the Beast Companion’s hit die each time the character levels up.
Does DND beyond have revised Ranger?

Wood elf and forest gnome are great for rangers. Lizard folk, tabaxi, any animal folk really. Forest gnome is my current personal favorite, both thematically and mechanically. That gnome cunning can really shore up a weak point in the ranger’s defenses.
Is the UA revised ranger going to be published?
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Beast Master Ranger is it’s spiritual Successor. The UA revised ranger is not going to be published, but the spirit of it lives in to some degree in the Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Optional Class Features.
