A StatBlock is the stats of a particular creature or NPC to be used in your adventure, arranged in a fashion that is intended to be useful to the DM. Basically, every critter has stats.

Damage work the same: 7 (2d6) from attack rolling 2 times a 1 would be minimum damage of 2 Maximum damage would be to roll 2 times 6 which is 12. 2 + 12 = 14/2 = 7 average damage.
Can I use hit dice in combat?
Hi JFCapps, so, the Hit Dice are not related to the weapon attack you do in combat. Hit Dice are related to the character’s health and to the “healing” during a short rest. Usually, a character has as many hit dice as the character’s level.
Is there a template for Monster stat block?
Obviously, the template is a conglomeration of many different abilities, but I wanted to provide the syntax/formatting for all the major components that could be in a block. ‘Creature’ is in red to make it obvious to change to the actual name.
Is the PHB template for Monster Stat searchable?
I addition to the many snippets for the PHB, there are a number of themes as well already in place (DMG, MM, EE, XGtE, and other game systems). Also, the things you create there can be made searchable by others. Bruh, I was just trying to find something like this earlier today!
