A Reaction is an instant response to a trigger of some kind, which can occur on Your Turn or on someone else’s. The opportunity Attack is the most Common type of Reaction. When you take a Reaction, you can’t take another one until the start of your next turn.
Can you take a bonus action and a reaction?
Yes, bonus actions and reactions are both types of actions (the rules are poorly written in a lot of areas). And no, you can’t do anything that normally takes a bonus action or reaction as an action.
Can you use your reaction to move?
You can move up to half your speed as a reaction when an enemy ends its turn within 5 feet of you. This movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks. Glamour: When a creature gains these temporary hit points, it can immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks.
Can you use a reaction on a surprise round?
A surprised creature cannot move, take and action, bonus action, or reaction on their turn or during that round of combat. Given they can’t take a reaction, they can’t use their readied action as they use their reaction to perform the readied action.
What can you do on reaction DND?
Typical things you can do with your reaction include: casting a spell, such as shield or counterspell, using Defensive Duelist feat, using Uncanny Dodge ability (Rogues only), making an opportunity attack, making an attack using the Sentinel feat.
Can a character react to an action and take a reaction?
Readying an action to do as a reaction to another character’s action is an action itself. You can only take one action per turn (generally), which can be used for one of a number of possible actions, such as attacking, readying an action to be used as a reaction, dodging, etc. (full list available in PHB starting on page 192).
Can you cast a reaction spell in the same round?
In the PHB page 202 under the bonus action heading it states: You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action. This seems to state that if you cast a bonus action spell, you could not cast a reaction spell in the same round.
Can a character make more than one attack per round?
A character who can make more than one attack per round must use the full attack action in order to get more than one attack. If you shoot or throw a ranged weapon at a target engaged in melee with a friendly character, you take a -4 penalty on your attack roll.
Can a full round action be taken as a standard action?
Some full-round actions can be taken as standard actions, but only in situations when you are limited to performing only a standard action during your round. The descriptions of specific actions, below, detail which actions allow this option.
