Cave Story+ is a Cave Story remake for PC, Mac (now defunct), and Nintendo Switch developed by Nicalis. It features remastered graphics and music as well as several new game modes, one of which being exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version.

A new and updated version of Cave Story, with revamped graphics, music, and new playmodes. Changes include: Updated “progressive” graphics (480p) and new music, with the option to use the “old school” versions of both. Five new playmodes, including Boss Rush, and the ability to play as Curly Brace.
Is Cave Story Plus good?
Its wonderful pacing, fantastic controls and charming visuals make it a must-have for fans of the genre, especially those that have yet to play it. If there was the equivalent of a required reading list for games, Cave Story+ would be on it.

Does pixel get money from Cave Story?
Don’t give Nicalis your money. Do not buy Cave Story plus or any other game that has the “Nicalis” logo plastered on the game. There is no sale in sight for CS +, and they upped the price with no real Content updates as they promised.
Does pixel own Cave Story?
I may be wrong, but from my understanding, Pixel technically owns the rights to Cave Story, but he licensed them out to Nicalis, so they can legally do what they want with the characters.
Is there a Wii version of Cave Story?
There are two versions of the WiiWare release, the original, and v258. v258 is similar to the DSiWare and 3DS releases in terms of interface (without the bottom screen inventory), while the original had a much different menu system, with both Boss Attack and Curly Story available from the start, and no jukebox.
