What are attuned magic items?
Attunement. Some Magic Items require a creature to form a bond with them before their magical Properties can be used. This bond is called attunement, and certain items have a prerequisite for it. If the prerequisite is a class, a creature must be a member of that class to attune to the item.
What are the different types of magical possession?
Two general types of true possession exist: spell possession and incorporeal possession. Magic jar and possession are both examples of spell possession, magic that allows the caster to detach her soul from her body and invade her host’s body with it.
Do you have to know a spell to create a magic item?
Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item’s creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet.
Do you have to take action to use magic item?
In most cases, using an item requires a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. By contrast, spell completion items are treated like spells in combat and do provoke attacks of opportunity. Activating a magic item is a standard action unless the item description indicates otherwise.
Are there magic items that have sentience and personality?
Some Magic Items possess sentience and personality. Such an item might be possessed, haunted by the spirit of a previous owner, or self–aware thanks to the magic used to create it. In any case, the item behaves like a character, complete with personality Quirks, Ideals, bonds, and sometimes flaws.
