The Club is created as a place where chess players of all backgrounds can meet to discuss strategy, refine their chess skills , challenge each other, and enjoy the age-old game of chess. Along with these things, the purpose of the Club is to promote the game of chess as a tool for expanding intellectual exploration.
How does chess club work?
A club can offer a wide variety of activities. There can be speed chess or rated games, or both. Club activities can include simultaneous exhibitions, lectures, and even formal classes taught by chess Masters and Experts. Some players who regularly come to a club won’t ever try weekend scholastic tournaments.

- Create a club. Navigate to and click “Create Club” in the right-hand menu.
- Customize your club. Inside the club creation page, you can add a club picture and background (optional).
- Invite members. Now that your club is set up, you can begin inviting members to join.

Where is the Chess Club in Marion NC?
The Marion Chess Club meets each Tuesday Night, Marion Senior Center (next to YMCA), 100 Spaulding Rd., Marion, NC 2875, from 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Casual play and open to all ages. The club also conducts a USCF Rated Tournament, every month, on the 1st and 2nd Tuesdays, of each month, August – December.
