A creature with truesight can, out to a specific range, see in normal and magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceives the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic.
Does true seeing see invisibility?
Truesight does not explicitly override invisible, it merely allows you to see invisible creatures. Therefore, the second benefit of invisibility (which does not rely on being unseen) is still in effect.
How does the shapechanger work on the Changeling?
The Changeling gets a racial feature called “Shapechange” which allows it to change form. Here’s the relevant part we’ll be examining: The language of the feature says that you can change your appearance as an action. It also says you stay in this form until you revert to your true form or die.
What causes Truesight to reveal a changeling’s form?
The only thing I found looking through the spell list that might have an impact is True Seeing, however it makes no mention of Changlings or other illusionary effects. Changeling’s I believe are considered shapechangers so Truesight would reveal their true form. Highest 41: brocker2001 ( #11,285 ).
Can you see the true form of a shape shifter?
That may change if eberron gets an update (technically it is still in playtest). I would say anything like true sight, true seeing, or that lets you see the true form of shape shifters. In 3.5, they were considered shapechangers, and the rules for their disguise specifically called out that truesight could see their natural form.
What happens when you transform into a shapechange creature?
You can only speak if the creature can normally speak. When you transform, you choose whether your Equipment falls to the ground, merges into the new form, or is worn by it. Worn Equipment functions as normal. The DM determines whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of Equipment, based on the creature’s shape and size.
