The servant can perform simple tasks that a human servant could do, such as fetching things, cleaning, Mending, folding clothes, Lighting fires, serving food, and pouring wine.
Can unseen servant use caltrops?
This takes two full-round actions for a creature smaller than large, and unlike catapults, thankfully doesn’t require any Strength checks. Drop or pick up caltrops. Assuming the unseen servant can ready an action, you can tell it to drop caltrops in front of anyone who charges you.
Can you have multiple unseen servants?
You can have as many as you can cast. Unseen Servant has no concentration requirement, and no stipulation you can only have one servant at most. Compare that with Minor Illusion, which explicitly says you can only have one effect up: The illusion also ends if you dismiss it as an action or cast this spell again.
Does unseen servant count as a creature?
Unseen servant creates “an invisible, mindless, shapeless force” (PH, 284). In combat, it doesn’t act as a creature, an enemy, or an ally.
Can unseen servant talk?
An unseen servant cannot communicate with you telepathically, and even if it has a means to speak (which the spell doesn’t provide for) it has a non-existent intelligence (ie. 0) so it cannot understand or speak language.
Can unseen servant heal?
It is reasonable to rule “Yes, the Unseen servant can pour healing potion into the mouth of another party member” who is not actively engaged in melee combat(moving about, swinging weapons, blocking, dodging) since that is: No more complicated than pouring wine into a glass.

Unseen Servant can be thought of Mage Hand, Programmable Edition. It can do anything anywhere anyhow, so long as it is within the parameters of the spell…and by this, that includes flying.
Can an unseen servant use the help action?
Once you give the command, the servant performs the task to the best of its ability until it completes the task, then waits for your next command. So while not being able to help you build, it can help you fix (mending) things or just assist by retrieving and stowing tools and being an assistant.
Does unseen servant have mass?
This spell functions as unseen servant, except that it creates multiple servants.

Can unseen servant pick locks?
Unseen servant can only do extremely basic things, and wouldn’t be able to get past a lock either. Mimics have a 5 INT, so up to the DM on whether a mage hand would trigger a mimic attack. They can only shapechange into objects, so no to the NPC question.
