How do you beat Ghirahim?
At the start of the battle, Ghirahim will approach Link with his red hand. He uses this to catch his blade if the player is just slashing directly. In this case, the player will need to beat Ghirahim by placing the sword to the left and rapidly switching at the last second to do some damage.

Ghirahim may had survive as a sword, but his “demon” form, the entity known as Ghirahim died. Though his essence sleeped inside the sword, since we see when Demise absorbs it into the sword, but the entity itself died, only surviving its essence inside the sword.
How do you beat ghirahim the second time?
If you continue swinging it back, Ghirahim will eventually miss, and get hit by his own attack, stunning him, leaving him open for an attack. Alternatively, you can simply block his sword attacks with a shield bash, which will also leave him open for a quick second.
