Resembling an Akaviri Sword or a Blades Sword, the Ebony Blade is a Daedric artifact belonging to Mephala. Killing kindred with the blade bolsters its power. Followers can wield the blade, but cannot fortify the enchantment unless instructed to kill an ally.
What happens if you lose the Ebony Blade?
This may result in the loss of the blade when it falls off into unreachable areas. This bug is fixed by version 2.0.4 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. If the Ebony Blade is confiscated before killing ten friends, it will reset to its original version.
