- Ignore the demon, save it for later.
- Hit illusory wall in the elevator room before Demon Ruins.
- Go back to the Blighttown swamp, rest at the bonfire, then explore the opposite side of the swamp.
- Take the elevator up and follow the path up to Firelink.
