You can start this little mini-conversation-quest by talking to Liara when you see her sitting down at a table at the cafe in the Presidium Commons. When you go back, you can then talk to a bartender at the front counter. You can get Liara to talk with her father afterwards, and it’s some pretty funny dialogue.

How do you beat matriarch Benezia?
Tactics. Hit Benezia with a disabling ability as often as possible or otherwise you’ll get a face full of biotics and gunfire. Stasis is a great option to remove her from the fight as she’s invulnerable while her power bar (visible in the lower right side of the HUD) is still active anyway.
