Diablo 2 if you like story of the series, true a-RPG games and complex and rewarding gameplay. Diablo 3 if you like looking powerful, flashy colors and CoD. And the music is just a whole other world in the earlier ones. If you don’t mind old games op, DEFINITELY play the old ones first.
