Development history. The development of Wizard101 began in 2005, soon after the founding of KingsIsle Entertainment. Company founder Elie Akilian hired J. Todd Coleman, who served as creative director of the game from its launch through 2013.
Did KingsIsle sell Wizard101?
The company that owns Gamigo bought out Wizard101 studio KingsIsle too. Adding to the Daybreak and Albion Online pile is KingsIsle Entertainment, which has apparently just been sold – to the same company that owns Gamigo.
Did Pirate101 shut down?
Golden Guardian on Apr 1, 2017 wrote: Just recieved devasting news on the pirate101 Facebook and twitter page that our beloved game is closing down in 2 months time. I am really sad. It was wonderful while it lasted and at least we got to defeat Kane and save the spiral.

Re: Do a lot of people still play Pirate101? unfortunately this game is dying from lack of updates. but there are a few devoted players out there who still play.
