How do you save in Return to Zork?
When you want to save a file under Zork 1, you have to type “SAVE” at the command line, then press return. Then the program says, “Insert save disk then enter file name”. This is a hangover from its DOS origins when many PCs only had floppy disks.
What happened to Zork?
After closing Infocom, Activision continued to use the beloved Infocom name and Zork brand to create additional sequels, like Return to Zork (1993), Zork Nemesis (1996), and Zork: Grand Inquisitor (1997). These games were a big departure from the original text-only gameplay.

How do you use items together in Zork?
Items can be used together by holding one and clicking on another to open an interaction menu. So, whenever stuck in the game, just try using everything on everything. Some places have a N,E,S, or W, for north east south and west, displayed overhead. In these areas only clicking the forward arrow changes the character’s position.
