FormID. Letter of Inheritance is a book in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The letter is sent after the death of a follower, spouse, or other individual the Dragonborn has befriended (usually by completing a miscellaneous quest for them). Can you release Thorald peacefully?
Yes, it is possible. You do need to finish Civil Wat questline on Imperial side. If you’ve done that, then after starting the quest, you go to General Tullius and ask him. General Tullius would give an Imperial missive stating the release of Thorald into the Dragonborn’s custody.
