Why do I get Downvoted on stack overflow?

We don’t have statistics or direct evidence for the reasons why people downvote on Stack Overflow, because users are not required to give reasons, or even comments explaining their downvote. That said, the most common reason for downvoting is probably that the question is written in a vague manner.

How can you tell if someone is Downvoted?

The only time you may know if someone downvoted your answer is if the answer is collapsed. Once an answer is collapsed, your count of answers is reduced by one. Collapsed answers aren’t counted – so from time to time you might see your number of answers go down.

Why do I have negative Upvotes?

It’s just a vote count, if it has a – it means it had more downvotes and vice versa. Example: if you have 6 upvotes but 8 downvotes your vote count will be -2.

Why are my questions on Stack Overflow getting downvotes?

It is way too broad and nobody can know exactly where you were stuck with your understanding of the problem. Give a clear description of where you got stuck and then people can actually. Asking people not to downvote will only make it more likely they will. Don’t put ideas in our heads (it’s also fluff or noise).

Why do some people not give straight answers?

The willful ignorance toward even one of the pillars that your question is built on, will leave unnecessary room for interpretation in the answers that people give. They’d be able to get away with seemingly answering your questions without delivering definite information for you to find value in.

Why do some people refuse to answer questions?

Ulterior motives often influence the way that certain people answer certain questions. As people learn to be more sly, they’ll realize that simply refusing to answer questions can get them into just as much trouble as voicing the painful truth. Those listening, can make assumptions based on one’s lack of desire to answer a certain tough question.

Can a person give you a detailed answer?

Detailed, descriptive, answers can only be elicited with questions which are detailed and descriptive in their own right. Each question that you ask is structured by way of foundational pillars which are then aesthetically added to and connected with vocabulary. Without any one of these pillars, the question would completely lose its meaning.
