1 Answer. You aren’t moving far enough away. When you create a nether portal, the game searches in a radius of 128 blocks in the dimension you are traveling to, for an active portal.
How do I delete a nether file?
Usually the folder will have the same name as the world it corresponds with. Finally go to the “/DIM-1” folder and delete anything inside. Next time you enter the nether, minecraft will reset the nether to how it was before you made any changes to it.

1 Answer 1. According to Notch, both Nether and The End portals spawn naturally as well. If you happen to “meet” one of these portals, it will automatically generate a single chunk in the corresponding world to be able to place the matching portal in that world.

Double-click the two dots at the top of the folder to return to your server’s root directory. For the Nether, locate the “world_nether” file (“world” will be your world’s name) and open it. There will be a “DIM-1” folder inside the “world_nether” folder. Drag and drop this folder to the double dots so it will be moved to your root directory.

Yes, the Nether is generated the same way as other terrain (in fact it’s just a special biome). It uses your world seed to generate it, so re-generating will not affect the layout of it (although there may be slight changes, such as the position of mushrooms, but I’m guessing that this doesn’t bother you too much).
